Samer Araabi
Associate Director of Political Education and Research
Samer Araabi is the Associate Director of Political Education and Research at the Center for Constitutional Rights. He leads the organization’s work to identify, develop, manage, and implement educational and human rights research strategies to advance the Center for Constitutional Rights' key priorities in challenging white supremacy, economic oppression, gender oppression, and abusive state practices. Samer has expertise supporting a wide array of movement partners on political analysis, research, writing, strategy, and campaign development.
Prior to joining the Center for Constitutional Rights, Samer was the Research Director at Accountability Counsel, where he led the organization’s work for transparency and accountability in international finance through data collection and analysis, qualitative research, and emerging technology tools. Previously, Samer served as the Government Relations Manager for the Arab American Institute in Washington, D.C., and as a Project Manager for the Syrian Assistance Coordination Unit and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coordinating over $10 million of humanitarian and development assistance to the Syrian people. He is also a member of the Arab Resource and Organization Center (AROC) and an advisor for the Center for Political Education.
Samer has provided briefings for a number of U.S. and international universities, as well as UN interagency working groups and the UN Security Council, on various research projects he has conducted. He holds dual degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master’s Degree in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics.
