Demanding Justice at Guantánamo and Around the World

January 2012

On January 11, 2012, CCR marked ten years since the first men were imprisoned at Guantánamo Bay without charge or a fair trial. CCR staff, volunteers and supporters spent the day in Washington, D.C. calling for Obama to close Guantánamo.

CCR held a press briefing featuring Executive Director, Vince Warren and Legal Director, Baher Azmy at the National Press Club. Then, with a large coalition of allies, CCR demonstrated in front of the White House and the Supreme Court in the largest rally calling for the closure of Guantánamo and an end to all unjust detentions. To close out this important anniversary, Vince was interviewed for the PBS News Hour.
