CCR Advocacy Program Manager Nahal Zamani will join St. Louis civil rights activist Brittany Packnett and Steve Silverman, founder of Flex Your Rights, for a panel discussion on the future of civilian oversight of police. The panel is part of an all-day symposium hosted by UDC David A. Clarke School of Law. Nahal will share her experience working with the Communities United for Police Reform campaign to create civilian oversight mechanisms in NYC, and relevant lessons from the ongoing Joint Remedial Process in CCR’s landmark case Floyd v. City of New York, which successfully challenged racially discriminatory stop-and-frisk practices in NYC.
