San Diego court hears arguments on Trump administration rules that limit asylum claims

...In Tijuana, there were roughly 9,600 names on the list, according to Al Otro Lado, a binational organization advocates for immigrants’ rights that provides pro-bono legal services to migrants. There were 26,000 names total on lists spanning the southwestern border at the end of September, when the motion for a preliminary injunction was filed.

The motion comes as part of a larger lawsuit attacking the Trump administration’s tightening of the asylum system filed by Al Otro Lado, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Center for Constitutional Rights. ...
