Ayla Kadah

Justice Fellow

Ayla Kadah is a Justice Fellow at the Center for Constitutional Rights, where she works on dismantling racist policing and immigration practices, advancing Palestinian human rights and liberation, and challenging the unlawful detentions at Guantánamo Bay. Prior to joining the Center for Constitutional Rights, Ayla supported decarceration efforts with the Unanimous Jury Project in New Orleans, collaborated with young people facing criminalization with the UW Law Race & Justice Clinic, and represented indigent clients in criminal and dependency proceedings with both the Federal Public Defenders and the Washington Appellate Project. She is also a former Center for Constitutional Rights Ella Baker legal intern, where she supported post-settlement efforts in Ashker v. Governor of California and drafted state supplements for the Jailhouse Lawyer's Handbook. Most recently, Ayla served as a law clerk to the Honorable John C. Coughenour of the Western District of Washington. Ayla is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, where she was a Gates Public Service Law scholar and Articles Editor with the Washington Law Review. She is a recipient of the Pro-Bono Student of the Year award, along with the John D. MacGillivray award for excellence in trial advocacy.
