January 6, 2019, New York – Today, the Center for Constitutional Rights welcomed Ken Montenegro as its first-ever Technology Director. He will lead and develop the organization’s technology to advance its mission and align with its long-term strategic goals. He will also lead the organization’s internal technology team in management of day-to-day technology operations, as well as plan and execute new technology projects and initiatives.
“I look forward to leading and learning with the technology team about how technology can be used to appropriately support and advance-mission driven liberation work,” he said. “It's an honor to join the Center for Constitutional Rights, and I look forward to applying what I have learned related to technology, the law, and community-based work as another tool in the Center for Constitutional Rights’ arsenal.”
Ken Montenegro joins the Center of Constitutional Rights from Asian Americans Advancing Justice in Los Angeles, where he was the Information Technology Director. He is a long-time activist with grassroots communities and movements, in particular around immigration and racist policing. Montenegro is also the current Executive Vice President of the National Lawyers Guild.

About Ken Montenegro
Ken was formerly Director of Information Technology at Advancing Justice Los Angeles, where he was responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all technology functions in the organization.
Ken was born/raised/rooted in Los Angeles and has been a nonprofit technologist for over 20 years. He has worked with numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Northeast Valley Health Corporation, Maternal & Child Health Access, Homeless Healthcare Los Angeles, and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles. In addition to being Executive Vice President of the National Lawyers Guild, Ken is currently a board member of NTEN and is a co-founder of the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition and one of the founding members of the Radical Connections Network.
