Legal experts were boggled by President Trump’s off-the-cuff comments on Wednesday about sending the terror suspect accused of killing eight people in New York to Guantanemo Bay.

Trump, in his first public remarks since Tuesday’s attack, called the suspect an ‘animal,’ threatened to send him to Gitmo and labeled the U.S. justice system “a laughing stock.”

“That was a horrible event and we have to stop it and we have to stop it cold. We also have to come up with a punishment that is far quicker and far greater in the punishment these animals are getting right now,” Trump said.
