NJ students head to court in battle over Fordham University Palestinian club

Flanked by supporters, three Fordham University students — including one from Wayne — asked a judge in Manhattan on Wednesday to compel the school to recognize a Palestinian-rights club on campus.

The students argued that Fordham ignored its own guidelines and practiced viewpoint discrimination when it denied them permission to start a Students for Justice in Palestine club at the school. Fordham, which asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit, said it doesn't have to abide by free-speech law as a private university. ...
