Join the Death by Incarceration is Torture coalition, of which Center for Constitutional Rights is part, for a virtual townhall on Thursday, January 18, at 7 p.m. EST to learn how people impacted by death by incarceration across the U.S. are taking the issue of extreme sentencing to the United Nations with historic wins, including the UN calling for a moratorium on life without parole sentences.

Center for Constitutional Rights Staff Attorney Astha Sharma Pokharel will join speakers to share more about the coalition’s complaint to the UN, the recent delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, for the UN Human Rights Committee review of the U.S., and how advocates can all leverage this international recognition in our organizing.
