CCR Senior Staff Attorney J. Wells Dixon will join a panel discussion on the current state of the Guantanamo military commissions. The event is organized by the Center on National Security at Fordham Law, and will take place in Bateman Room 2-01B. You can RSVP on their website by February 18.

Panelists

Carol Rosenberg joined the staff of The Miami Herald in 1990. She has covered the Guantanamo Bay detention center and related controversies longer than any journalist, from the arrival of the first prisoners on Jan. 11, 2002 through the present. S

Michel Paradis is currently a senior attorney with the Military Commissions Defense Organization at the United States Department of Defense. In that role, he is regularly appointed to represent detainees held at the U.S. Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. 

John Ryan is the Editor-in-Chief and Senior VP for Content at Lawdragon where he oversees all online and magazine content, website development and company branding. He also provides regular coverage from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on the military commissions against accused terrorists, including the case against the five alleged plotters of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. 

James Harrington is a capital defense attorney for Harrington & Mahoney in Buffalo, New York. He has served in private practice for 33 years concentrating on criminal law. 

J. Wells Dixon specializes in challenging unlawful detentions at the Guantánamo prison. He represents clients in federal court, before the military commissions at Guantanamo, and in various international proceedings. 

Moderated by Karen J. Greenberg, the Director of the Center on National Security at Fordham Law and the author of The Least Worst Place: Guantanamo's First 100 Days. Her most recent book is Rogue Justice: The Making of the Security State.
