Foley Square
New York, NY 10013

Baher Azmy, Center for Constitutional Rights Legal Director, will join other speakers at this rally where NYC educators, students, workers, and allies will rally in defense of higher education, asserting our collective rights to learn, to teach, to research, to associate, and to protest.

More about the rally:

3 p.m., March from Washington Square
4 p.m., Rally at Foley Square

This event is part of a day of action taking places on campuses across the country on April 17. We are building a future for higher education free from coercion, censorship, transphobia, racism, and anti-immigrant hate.

People are taking a stand against the Trump administration’s actions, including illegal abductions of students and faculty for their pro-Palestinian speech; deadly cuts to scientific research; discriminatory anti-DEI policies; the targeting of trans people; xenophobic immigration crackdowns; and attacks on public education.

This event is co-hosted by UAW 7902, AAUP NYU, NYU Contract Faculty United (CFU-UAW), American Association of University Professors (AAUP), PSC/CUNY, Contingent Faculty of Columbia University (CFCU-UAW), NYU Researchers United, GSOC UAW, and The New School AAUP.
