CLOSE GTMO | National

  • When: Wednesday, January 11, 2012
  • Where: Lafayette Square (across from the White House), Washington, D.C.
  • Time: Noon to 2:00 pm

Join the Center for Constitutional Rights and a growing number of groups and individuals who will converge in Washington D.C. on January 11, 2012, to mark the shameful tenth anniversary of Guantánamo's opening and to demand that the prison be closed. This is an anniversary that should not have come.

Come and be part of the largest demonstration to date demanding the closure of the prison at Guantánamo. Support prominent speakers voicing opposition to Guantánamo and all unjust U.S. detentions, and then help us form a human chain between the White House and the Capitol. We need you to spread the word and to join us. Indefinite detention without charge or fair trial must end, as must the Islamophobia underpinning both America’s detention policies and its illegitimate wars.

Can’t make it to DC? Hold a solidarity event or attend a CCR event in your area!

events in NY, SF, and London,  as well as solidarity actions we urge everyone to take between January 1-January 11, visit the main page.
