Join us for a screening of CCR's short documentary "Waiting for Fahd" Saturday, May 16, 2015 2:00pm-4:00pm 10510 Culver Blvd, Culver City Join CCR Executive Director Vincent Warren for a screening and discussion of our documentary "Waiting for Fahd." Tucked away amid jagged mountain ranges and loping countryside, three hours outside of the city of Sana'a, is the sleepy town of Bayt Ghazy, Yemen. Home to an agrarian community, it is also where the story of Fahd Ghazy, a Yemeni national detained at Guantánamo since February 2002, begins. It is where Fahd's school books yellow, untouched in the 12 years since his absence, and where his grieving wife and daughter wait for his return. Through moving interviews with his beloved family, "Waiting for Fahd" paints a vivid portrait of the life that awaits a man who, despite being twice cleared for release, continues to needlessly and illegally languish at Guantanamo because of his nationality. A heartbreaking tale of a dream deferred, "Waiting for Fahd" also offers hope that one day this father, brother and son will be reunited with the loved ones who long for his return. Come hear what you can do to free Fahd and be a part of our campaign. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP required. Please call 212-614-6489 or email [email protected] by May 13th. Space is limited so please respond early!
