Join us for the opening night of "Art and Resistance," a group art show featuring artists from Uganda, Burkina Faso, and the U.S.

Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), Mor Mor Studio, and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) invite you to the opening night of "Art and Resistance" on Thursday, November, 10 from 6-8 pm. The show brings together four artists, Babirye Leilah, Sanou Oumar, Brian Nkoyooyo, Felandus Thame, to exhibit together in solidarity.

Over the last few years, the LGBTI community in Uganda has experienced an escalation in persecution, discrimination, and violence. The exhibit comes on the heels of a historic hearing in Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) v. Lively, in which SMUG, an LGBTI advocacy organization in Uganda, is suing Scott Lively, a U.S.-based anti-gay extremist, for his role in the persecution.

RSVP is recommended but not required for opening night. The show will run through Sunday, November 13. We hope to see you there!
