CCR First Wednesdays: Challenging the Rise of Islamophobia in the U.S.

Registration is closed for this event

Join us for CCR First Wednesday on February 3, 2016. We will begin our two-part First Wednesday series addressing the rise of Islamophobia in the U.S., and discussing two landmark cases that challenge the abusive practices some politicians are now advocating: a lawsuit against John Ashcroft and others responsible for post 9/11 dragnet sweeps and disappearances of Muslim, Arab and South Asian individuals, and a case challenging the NYPD's suspicionless surveillance of Muslims in New Jersey. This event is FREE. Come to the discussion, talk to the lawyers working on these cases, and meet new friends!

For a preview of the work we will be discussing, see our page on this issue. Doors open at 6pm, program begins at 6:30pm, followed by Q&A and music by DJ Ian Head.

WHAT: Discussion with CCR staffers Baher Azmy, Rachel Meeropol, and Omar Farah. Followed by Q&A.

Space is limited, RSVP is recommended. A hearty thank you to Von for co-hosting!

CCR First Wednesdays is a free monthly series where we invite you to join us for a salon-style happy hour where we discuss social justice issues and network.
