CCR Statement on Effects of Solitary Confinement Before PA House of Representatives Democratic Policy Committee

On September 14, 2012, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) submitted a statement before the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Democratic Policy Committee on the Effects of Solitary Confinement for a hearing held that day.

The piece was authored by the President of CCR Professor Jules Lobel.

The statement was submitted in order to address some of the human rights and constitutional implications of solitary confinement in the hopes that the hearing would result in the fundamental reassessment of the widespread use of solitary confinement in Pennsylvania and other states.
