December 1, 2009, New York, NY - CCR filed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit seeking accountability for American and German corporations who allegedly assisted the South African Apartheid regime.
Plaintiffs’ claims are against three American corporations, General Motors Corporation (GM), Ford Motor Company (Ford), and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), and two German corporations, Daimler A.G. and Rheinmetall Group A.G. Plaintiffs allege that these Defendants provided substantial, purposeful assistance to the Apartheid regime by supplying it with products and services to advance torture, extrajudicial killing, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, apartheid, and denationalization.
