Monami Maulik

Monami Maulik has been a leader and grassroots organizer in the fields of immigrant, racial justice, youth, and global justice for over 20 years. In 2000, she founded DRUM - Desis Rising Up & Moving as one of the first South Asian immigrant workers’ membership-based organizations for social justice in the U.S.  Until last year she served as DRUM’s Executive Director, developing campaigns and leading national and global alliance work. After taking a sabbatical year at the Kennedy School at Harvard, Monami is back working on issues of migration, gender, low wage work and human rights as a consultant with several key organizations, including UNWomen.
