The part-time (20 hours per week) Communications Assistant will provide administrative support for the Communications department and its department director, as outlined below.
Responsibilities
- Write content and distribute the Center for Constitutional Rights’ weekly e-newsletter, Frontlines of Justice
- Collect and manage the Center for Constitutional Rights’ press clips on a weekly basis
- Assist with updating and maintaining press lists
- Coordinate collection of the Communication department’s biweekly updates for all staff report
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the media library
- Track and submit expense reimbursements and receipts for the Communications department
- Assist with The Activist Files’, the Center for Constitutional Rights’ podcast; duties may include:
- Set-up/break down of podcast equipment
- Interview research
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the interim Communications Director
Qualifications
- Exceptional work ethic, organizational and time management skills, including proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate problems and use judgment appropriately to plan solutions
- Superior attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and interpersonal communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, working knowledge of Adobe and Google applications preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- High level of initiative and personal responsibility
- Integrity, grace under pressure, emotional intelligence, and a sense of humor

Vaccine and booster requirement: All staff members are required to submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $32.29 to $43.25 and commensurate with related years of experience.
Benefits include vacation, sick leave, and holidays, and 100-percent organization-paid medical and dental premiums.
