UCLA Law Discussion: Challenging Torture and Detention from Guantánamo Bay to Pelican Bay

Date

Add to My Calendar Wednesday, February 27, 2013 12:00am

Location

Join CCR Executive Director Vince Warren for a thought-provoking discussion on U.S. torture policies, CCR's lawsuits for accountability, and what you can do.

CCR was the first organization to file a case on behalf of the Guantánamo detainees, and has led the legal battle over the prison for the last 11 years. Beyond Guantánamo, CCR represents prisoners at California's Pelican Bay Prison who have been in solitary confinement for between 10 and 28 years, which we consider torture. CCR has been on the frontlines for civil liberties, challenging warrantless wiretaps, domestic spying, torture at Abu Ghraib, and the targeting of Muslim and Arab Americans.
