Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, Northeastern Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy, NYU School of Law Center for Human Rights and Global Justice, the U.S. Human Rights Network present: Securing Basic Economic and Social Rights by Challenging the Criminalization of Poverty, Identity and Status, on April 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..

This CLE Symposium will explore how domestic lawyers and other advocates are leveraging human rights principles and mechanisms to respond to the systemic use of criminalization as a mean to exacerbate poverty and inequality within the United States, and what more might be done to build on these efforts.
