CCR will also join its ally organization Witness Against Torture on Sunday January 11th for the seven-year anniversary of the opening of the detention camp at Guantánamo. The event will take place at 12:45 p.m. at Dupont Circle Park in Washington, D.C. as human rights organizations call for justice for detainees and accountability for possible U.S. crimes and an end to the Bush administrations' policies. 150 participants will don orange jumpsuits and hoods in a prisoner procession to demonstrate the plight of the detainees still at Guantánamo.

At the event, over 200 human rights advocates will join 60 individuals who will participated in a 9-day fast to call on President-Elect Obama to keep his promise to shut down Guantánamo and end torture during his first days of office. The fast will be broken on January 20, when anti-torture activists will join the inauguration-day crowd. The event is part of Witness Against Torture's 100 Days Campaign to Close Guantanamo and End Torture.
