Date

Add to My Calendar Saturday, January 11, 2020 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Location

Lafayette Square
Washington, DC 20006

Join the Center for Constitutional Rights and our allies to mark the 18th anniversary of the opening of the Guantánamo Bay prison. We will rally together to demand the closure of the prison and accountability for the U.S.. torture program.

More than a decade after they were brought to Guantánamo, 40 men remain detained, including five who have been approved by the U.S. government for transfer out of the prison. Most of the detainees have never been charged or convicted of any crime. More than a decade after the end of the CIA torture program, the full Senate torture report remains classified and not a single high-level official has been held accountable within the United States.
