The U.S. 'War on Drugs' and 'War on Terror' have produced a parallel system of state violence and social control, manifested through unjust prosecutions and the mass incarceration of people of color. CCR is proud to co-sponsor this examination of the intersections between the wars on crime, terror and beyond.

Join us on Thursday, April 18th at 6:30pm for a town hall discussion as we hear first-hand stories from people who are former prisoners, family members, lawyers, intellectuals, historians and activists as they talk about excessive sentences, discriminatory policing, suppression of political dissent and mass incarceration.

• Faisal Hashmi, Co-founder of the Muslim Justice Initiative. Faisal's brother, Fahad Hashmi, is a CCR client who pled to one count of material support after being held in pre-trial solitary confinement and under Special Administrative Measures for three years. He is currently imprisoned at the Administrative Maximum prison in Florence, Colorado, where he continues to be held in solitary confinement.
