A NYS Continuing Legal Education Program
 
This program provides an overview of the international human rights and humanitarian law framework and examines a series of case studies illustrating the challenges and successes encountered when applying this framework to mass atrocities or serious violations of international law.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Online preregistration will close for all transactions, including refunds, at 5pm on Friday, September 23, 2011. On-site registration will be available at the Conference, space permitting. Please note that conference rates are flat fees and cannot prorated according to attendance. Confirmed reservations are transferrable; kindly notify Greta Moseson ([email protected]) of transfers as soon as possible, and, if possible, by the close of preregistration.
 
REGISTRATION RATES: An attendance fee of $150.00 per person is required. Reduced rates are available for attorneys either serving in the public interest (eg government, academia, non- and not-for profit organizations, inter alia) or experiencing financial hardship. A limited number of financial hardship scholarships will be available on a case-by-case basis by application to Sallie Locke ([email protected]). CONFERENCE MATERIALS: A conference program will be provided to all attendees as well as reading materials, which will be distributed on CD. Printed copies of the CD will be available for review at the conference, and attendees may request in advance to have a printed copy instead of the CD by specific request via online preregistration.
 
NYS CLE CREDIT:Columbia Law School has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board as an Accredited Provider of CLE programs. Under New York State CLE regulations, this live CLE program will provide in aggregate a maximum of 4.5 credit hours that can be applied toward the Areas of Professional Practice requirement by both transitional and non-transitional attorneys. CLE credit is awarded only for attendance of entire sessions, as reflected in the conference register, which attorneys seeking credit must sign both prior to and following their attending program sessions. Attorneys attending only part of a session are not eligible for partial credit for it, although they are most welcome to attend it. On sign-out, at the program’s conclusion or otherwise on departure, attorneys should also submit their completed Evaluation Form, provided at the Conference. Please note that the NYS Certificates of Attendance will be sent to the mailing address as it appears in the sign-in/-out registers unless otherwise noted there.
