Building a U.S. Movement to End Torture

Location 

CCR client and former Guantanamo detainee Murat Kurnaz will speak on a panel of leaders who represent communities directly impacted by U.S. actions and policies that amount to torture, abuse and murder. The event, co-sponsored by CCR, will take place during the UN Committee Against Torture (CAT) review of the U.S.’ compliance with the Convention against Torture.

Speakers will share personal stories, assess the Obama Administration's responses, and recommend how to hold the U.S. accountable. Question and answer session will follow the panel.
