Join the Center for Constitutional Rights and our allies for an online vigil to mark the 19th anniversary of the opening of the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay. In previous years, activists, advocates, and lawyers have gathered in person in Washington, D.C., to commemorate this shameful anniversary.

This year, we’re taking the tradition online with poetry, speakers, and reading the names of the forty men who remain detained without charge or fair trial. One of our guest speakers includes Mansoor Adayfi, who was detained without charge in Guantánamo from 2002-2016.

Over the last 19 years, nearly 800 Muslim men and boys have been imprisoned in Guantánamo. When Biden takes office in January 2021, he will be the fourth president to preside over the prison. His administration must take bold and swift action to close Guantánamo.
