18th National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and Criminalization of a Generation O22

Date

Add to My Calendar Tuesday, October 22, 2013 12:00am

Location

On October 22nd, the 18th rally and march to stop police brutality, repression and criminalization of a generation will occur in the Bronx, NY and at least 30 additional locations across the nation. Please note a change in location to the Bronx this year due to a heavy concentration of police violence in the borough.

CCR Attorney and Bertha Social Justice Institute Fellow Chauniqua Young will speak about CCR's Floyd v. City of New York case.

Nicholas Heyward Sr., the father of Nicholas Jr, a 13-year old boy killed by an NYC housing cop, states:

“I have never got any justice for my son’s murder. It is important we make a move on October 22 to let people know that we are not tolerating this any longer. I’ve been fighting the injustices of my son and many others for the past 19 years and not in one single case has there been any justice. This is something not only happening in New York City, it’s happening all across the country. I ask that you come out on O22, October 22 and stand with us, and the people all across the country, and let them know we are not going to tolerate the injustice of murdering of our children. We are tired of burying our children while the officers who have murdered them walk free.”
