TransLash tells trans stories to save trans lives. As a trusted source for journalists, thought-leaders, movement activists, researchers, and those wanting to know about trans people, we produce narratives about and for the trans community––accurately and reliably. At a time when disinformation about trans people is being used to undermine democracy and human rights, TransLash serves as a beacon of hope through the voices of our community that we share with the world.

By leveraging the power of journalism and personal narratives, TransLash creates trans-affirming content, valuable resources, and events in collaboration with partners and allies. Our investigative journalism decodes how the #AntiTransHateMachine targets trans people, and our #TransBodiesTransChoices film series tells trans abortion stories. With violence in all of its forms continuing to impact trans people, especially those who are Black and brown, we center #TransJoy. Our intersectional programming featuring TGNC history-makers and allies has been incorporated into educational resources and reporting worldwide.

What started out as a personal, award-nominated docuseries by our Founder and CEO Imara Jones, telling the story of what it was like to be trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) during the Trump-era’s anti-trans backlash, has grown into the TransLash Media of today. Now an all-screens news and media nonprofit, TransLash has attracted and cultivated an influential digital community. READ MORE
