CCR Stands With Immigrant Communities in Condemning DACA Repeal

September 5, 2017, New York – In response to the Trump administration ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) issued the following statement:

We stand with immigrant communities in decrying the Trump administration’s elimination of DACA. This is an inhumane affront to immigrant youth and yet another escalation of Trump and Sessions’s white supremacist agenda of terror directed at immigrant communities of colormounting ICE arrests, pardoning Joe Arpaio, and calling for a deadly border wall. We will continue to fight alongside organizations on the frontlines of this struggle and immigrant communities claiming their right to live in dignity and free from fear. Resistance is our civic duty.

The Center for Constitutional Rights works with communities under threat to fight for justice and liberation through litigation, advocacy, and strategic communications. Since 1966, the Center for Constitutional Rights has taken on oppressive systems of power, including structural racism, gender oppression, economic inequity, and governmental overreach.
