Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of President Obama’s announcement to close the prison at Guantánamo Bay. The Obama administration has already said it will miss the deadline, and CCR, the ACLU, Amnesty International, MoveOn, Amnesty, Human Rights Watch and other rights groups will continue to advocate for its timely, responsible closure.  Join us on Twitter and Facebook and help us build a buzz today and tomorrow, January 22, 2010. Here's how:

  • Tweet messages with the “#closegitmo” hashtag, or retweet @theCCR (many of these messages will have links to online actions);
  • Change your Twitter avatar or Facebook profile picture to a an orange ribbon that says “CLOSE GITMO” (you can download the image below); and
  • Spread the word!  We hope to make #closegitmo a top trending topic.

Join us now and take a stand to close Guantanamo!
