MCNY Stop & Frisk & Mass Incarceration featuring Darius Charney

Date

Add to My Calendar Thursday, November 14, 2013 12:00am

Location

CCR Senior Staff Attorney Darius Charney will speak on a panel at MCNY about the Floyd trial and August decision from the judge. All members of the community are welcome to attend.

On October 31, 2013, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit granted the City's request for a stay on the stop-and-frisk remedies mandated by the Federal district court in Floyd v City of New York. This does not mean that Floyd has been overturned - only that the remedies ordered in Floyd have been postponed until the 2nd Circuit hears the City's appeal in earlier 2014.

Glenn Martin of Fortune Society and LB Elsen from Brennan Center for Justice will join Darius on the panel, and Dean Humphrey Crookendale from MCNY School for Public Affairs and Administration will moderate. Light refreshments will be served.
