The New York City Bar Committee on African Affairs cordially invites you to a panel discussion, LGBT Rights as Human Rights: Recent Legal Developments in Africa. This panel considers developments in LGBT rights in relation to recent anti-gay legislation in Africa. These laws seek to criminalize any same-sex activity or organizing on behalf of LGBT people. Panelists will address the tension between these developments and the recent formal recognition of LGBT rights by the United Nations. This event is free and open to the public.
