Biography

Annette Warren Dickerson joined the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) in 1999. Her responsibilities include developing political and public education strategies and materials that correlate to CCR’s legal and advocacy work. Annette also oversees the Ella Baker Fellowship Program. Most recently, she served as the statewide coordinator of the New York Campaign for Telephone Justice, which successfully ended the high collect call rates for the families of those incarcerated in New York State prisons. Annette began her career in 1979 as the associate director of student activities at New York University, and was central to the development of NYU’s Martin Luther King Jr. Scholars program. She has served as assistant director of the Institute for Community Empowerment at the Community Service Society, chief project administrator of the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, and associate director of the Upper Manhattan Task Force on AIDS.
