Assemble for Rights campaigns against the NYPD’s new parade permit rules which will have a dramatic chilling effect on the exercise of our free speech rights and our right to freely assemble. On January 28, 2007 the NYPD promulgated new rules that require groups of 50 or more to obtain a permit if they want to gather on a sidewalk, in the road, or in the parks. The rules effect pedestrians, vehicles, and cyclists alike.
